Tom Landreth's
first artistic effort of record is a baby photo he and a young female playmate
colorized with mercurochrome at about age two. Fortunately for his many
collectors, he turned to watercolor to portray his love for the outdoors.
When he was
a student at Georgia Tech, he also attended sketching classes at the old
High Museum in Atlanta, his only formal art education. Those sketching
classes were a welcome change of pace from architectural drafting and seeded
his life-long interest in art.
After years
in corporate life, he renewed his interest in painting. To develop his
skills, he attended workshops with some of the country's best known watercolor
artists. Finally, Tom returned to Georgia in 1981 with his wife, June,
to pursue a full-time career in art. |
